Oman's first online bus booking marketplace adds Riyadh, Makkah, Fujairah, Al Ain and Sharjah, working with operators including Mwasalat and Eternity Road

MUSCAT, OMAN, October 19, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Shawy (shawy.om), Oman's first online intercity bus booking marketplace, today announced that it now offers more than 100 routes, including cross-border services from Oman to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Passengers can now book seats online to Riyadh, Makkah, Fujairah, Al Ain and Sharjah, alongside domestic routes within Oman.

Shawy works with transport operators including Mwasalat and Eternity Road Land Transport, bringing their services together on one digital platform.

Launched in March 2026, Shawy allows travelers to search, book and pay for bus tickets through its iOS and Android apps and its website, in five languages: Arabic, English, Persian, Hindi and Urdu. The platform supports local payment options, and its data is hosted inside Oman.

“Intercity travel in this region has relied on ticket counters and phone calls for too long. We experienced that gap first-hand, and we decided to build the digital infrastructure that connects passengers and operators in one place,” said Mohammed Al-Badaai, Co-Founder and CEO of Shawy. “With routes to Saudi Arabia and the UAE, we are a step closer to making bus travel across the Gulf as simple as booking a flight.”

“Our goal is to build infrastructure, not just an app,” said Amirhossein Nozarian, Co-Founder and COO of Shawy. “As GCC integration moves forward, including the planned unified tourist visa, we want to be ready to connect more destinations.”
