Provided by AGPAuthorities claim the suspects were preparing explosive devices and collecting personal data on senior agency officials. The group was reportedly discovered during coordinated raids across several Russian cities.
According to the FSB, the operation involved seven individuals, including minors. Officials said the group was allegedly directed by Ukrainian intelligence services and had discussed methods of targeting vehicles belonging to senior regulators.
The suspected ringleader was killed during an armed confrontation, while investigators reportedly seized weapons, grenades, improvised explosives, and extremist symbols from various locations linked to the group.
Russian authorities also stated that some of those detained admitted to gathering information on Roskomnadzor leadership and discussing potential attack plans.
The FSB alleged that the group was motivated in part by opposition to Roskomnadzor’s regulatory actions, including restrictions on foreign-based digital platforms.
Officials further claimed that minors have increasingly been targeted for recruitment efforts through online messaging platforms in recent years, though these allegations have not been independently verified.
The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities continuing to examine communications and materials recovered during the raids.
